Visitor Reviews and Testimonials

“Fabulous, everything you need provided, location excellent, relaxation on a plate.” - Oct 2020

“We had a wonderful week staying at Gwalia. The cottage is in a wonderful position overlooking the Taf Estuary and with lovely views of Laugharne and Dylan Thomas' boathouse across the estuary. There are beautiful walks nearby and also Llansteffan and its Beach is just 10 minutes away. The cottage is really comfortable and beautifully presented. There is a large terrace and side garden overlooking the estuary which are lovely to sit in during the day and to watch the sunset in the evening. It has everything you need for a holiday stay. Sian and Brian are lovely hosts and greeted us and made us feel very welcome on arrival.” - Sep 2020

“Stunning location with excellent views. Spotless accommodation and very modern cottage” - Aug 2020

“This was my third visit and my daughters fourth we love Gwalia the cottage is lovely and in a good position to other attractions I’m sure this won’t be our last trip either.” - Oct 2019

“We loved our stay at Gwalia. Peaceful location, beautiful views across the estuary, plenty to enjoy and explore nearby and a good base for exploring West Wales. Sian and Brian couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful and really went the extra mile. The house is comfortable, well-equipped and a nice place to be. As a family of 4 large people with an active dog, we greatly appreciated the luxury of a utility room for laundry, wet coats and with space for the dog's paraphenalia. Our favourite place to visit from Gwalia? Llansteffan is really nice and the easiest place to get to. We also loved Drysylwyn Castle - fabulous views and almost nobody there, in contrast to Dynefwr (which is also brilliant but a lot busier and you can't take dogs in) - and the highlight of the whole week was seeing otters in the River Towy, up close as they swam below the bridge near Drysylwyn.” - Aug 2019

“We loved staying at Gwalia. The location was spectacular with fields running down to the salt marsh, the river and Dylan Thomas' Boathouse across the water. There was nothing to hear but bird song, sheep and the occasional farm vehicle. And the sunsets...…. We would definitely stay there again.” - Jun 2019

“Lovely holiday made even better with the excellent accommodation and perfect setting. Proprietors were welcoming and helpful. The fact that the cost includes electricity etc. Is a bonus. I know it’s only a small point, but the shower was excellent. Perfect situation for touring the immediate area.” - Aug 2020

“Great cottage in a perfect location. Fantastic views of the estuary and the night sky is amazing ... weather permitting. It’s right next to the Wales costal path and just a short drive or 40 min walk to Llansteffan. The owners were friendly, without being at all intrusive. On top of that, it had the best equipped kitchen of any cottage we’ve stayed in. Highly recommended!” - Aug 2020

“Enjoyed a fabulous week here in early October. Cottage was lovely as were the gardens. Sian was lovely and friendly but unobtrusive - perfect hostess. Lucky with the weather too. So much to see and do in both Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire. Nothing was too far away. Will definitely visit again xx Pauline and Ashley Morgan, London.” - Sep 2018
