Pentowyn cottages are two former farm buildings converted to high quality, independent holiday accommodation. Gwalia is the larger of the two cottages and will accommodate six, Hafan will sleep two.
Originally a priory farm whose origins date back to the 12th century, Pentowyn now consists of the 2 detached holiday cottages and the original farmhouse, lived in by the owners Sian and Brian. The self catering cottages have been converted to a very high standard; the interiors are light and airy with everything provided to make your stay a comfortable and memorable one.
Situated in an idyllic location, surrounded by glorious
countryside, Pentowyn is away from the hustle and bustle of everyday
life with no noise or light pollution! The Taf estuary provides an
ever changing vista and watching the sunset over ancient town of
Laugharne is an unforgettable experience. The views towards Dylan
Thomas' Boathouse on the opposite side of the estuary, and over to
Pendine and Caldy are outstanding.
The Carmarthenshire section of the Wales Coastal Path passes behind
the property and there are many walks from the doorstep - including
one to the nearby tidal salt marsh with its abundance of wildlife.
The village of Llansteffan is only 5 minutes away by car. It has a
long sandy beach, a shop/post office, a beach cafe and two family
friendly pubs both serving tasty meals. Along with tennis courts
there are also two play areas for children.
The nearby bustling market town of Carmarthen offers a wide range of
facilities including a leisure centre, multi-screen cinema, and
theatre.
The cottages provide the perfect base for various holiday
activities including walking, tennis, cycling, bird watching,
sea fishing and golf. The National Botanic Garden of Wales,
Aberglasney Gardens and several castles are a short drive away.
